(Movie Review) Cold Souls

Finding the perfect movie is such a serendipitous experience. Not only does it have to have the right theme, tone, acting, and music, but it also has to have that little something extra that make you NEED to see it. I saw the preview for this movie about 4 months ago and thought that it would be exactly what I wanted to see. I love it when I'm this RIGHT.

PLOT: Paul Giamatti (played by Paul Giamatti) is an American Actor that is about to put on a Russian play, Vanya,  in New York. When Paul feels that he is overwhelmed in his work and his life, he starts to look for a way out. He feels that something is weighing him down, but he can't figure out what it is. Then he is given information about a company that will extract his soul and store it in an effort to free him from his current problems. When he goes through with the procedure he is, in the short term, cured of his problems. However, when his cure quickly proves to be a much worse existence than that of having a "damaged soul". When he tries to retrieve his soul, he finds that it had been misplaced. Paul must find his soul so he can begin to feel like a whole person again.

Thoughts: An absolutely wonderful movie. Paul Giamatti has been one of my favorite actors for a long time, but this movie was just great. Some people will hate it. Some, people like me, will love it. It shows that the little things about ourselves that make us HATE ourselves sometimes are the things that others love and would miss. Things that we take for granted. It also explains some things about the soul without the idea of religion being involved, which was nice...because this was not a movie about religion, it was a movie about learning to finally appreciate yourself and the thing that make you the unique person that you are.

All in all, this was a great movie and I loved it. Please be sure to check it out.
